POMPEI CRICKET LEAGUE 2024 – SEASON 3 ORGANISED BY ICYM-PYC GURPUR

The Pompei Youngsters Club (Regd. to ICYM Mangalore Diocese) of Gurpur Unit, in collaboration with the Parish Youth Commission, successfully organized the Pompei Cricket League 2024 - Season 3. The tournament was held at the Rosa Mystica School Grounds and featured an exciting 5-team cricket competition.

In a thrilling finale, Royal Titans emerged as champions, securing the first place - followed by Asteroid Amigos as runners-up. The second runners-up position was clinched by JMJ Cricketers.

Tournament Highlights:

The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by the Parish Priest and ICYM PYC Director of Gurpur Unit, - V. Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’Sa. The event also had the honor of the presence of Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza (Director, ICYM Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore), Deacon Vikas Pereira, ICYM Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore President Winston Sequeira, and other esteemed dignitaries including Mr. Johnson Lobo (Parish council Secretary), Mrs. Hilda Menezes (21 Commissions Coordinator), and Mr. Godwin Tauro (ICYM PYC Animator & Youth Commission Secretary).

Venisha Saldanha (Liturgical Secretary, ICYM) welcomed the gathering, while Rev. Fr. Rudolf D’Sa appreciated the organizers Mr. Lester Menezes (President, ICYM PYC Gurpur Unit), Preema Menezes (Secretary, ICYM PYC Gurpur Unit), Augustine Menezes (Sports Secretary, ICYM PYC Gurpur), Deepak D’Souza and Christon Fernandes (PCL Coordinators) and congratulated all participants for making PCL Season 3 a grand success.

The dignitaries present distributed prizes to the winning teams and players. The names of the winners were announced by Ms. Venisha Saldanha.

ELECTIONS OF THE NEW OFFICE BEARERS OF ICYM-PYC GURPUR UNIT FOR THE YEAR 2024-25

ICYM-PYC Gurpur Elections took place on 5th May in the PYC Stage after the Sunday Eucharistic Holy Mass. Reshma Sequeira and Preema Menezes led the prayer service seeking God's blessings. ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. ICYM-PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D'Sa, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo and ICYM-PYC Secretary Josvita D'Souza were present on this occasion.
