PYC PICNIC 2025: A DAY OF JOY AT UVA MERIDIAN AMUSEMENT PARK


On April 27th, 2025, at 7:00 AM, 20 enthusiastic members of the Pompei Youngsters Club – ICYM Gurpur Unit, along with their Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, gathered at the church to kick off a much-awaited picnic to UVA Meridian Amusement Park, Kundapur. Before beginning the journey, Mr. Godwin Tauro led the group in a short prayer, seeking God's blessings for a safe and joyful trip. The group traveled by mini-bus, enjoying each other's company along the way. A delicious breakfast stop re-energized everyone, and by 9:45 AM, the team arrived at the amusement park, excited for the day ahead.

The fun began with a round of dry games, bringing out lots of laughter and team spirit. This was followed by a tasty lunch featuring chicken biryani, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. In the afternoon, the group dived into the water activities — sliding down thrilling water slides, splashing in pools, and relaxing in the wave pool. The joy was evident on everyone’s faces! By 5:00 PM, it was time to wrap up the fun with snacks, tea, and ice cream, adding a sweet touch to the day. The journey back to Gurpur Kaikamba was just as lively, filled with singing, dancing, and joyful chatter. Upon reaching the church at 8:00 PM, ICYM-PYC President Lester Menezes expressed heartfelt thanks to all who participated and made the picnic a grand success. It was truly a day to remember — full of fun, friendship, and cherished memories.

YUVA SPARSH AND RED DROP ENLIGHTENMENT ORGANISED BY ICYM – PYC GURPUR UNIT

Pompei Youngsters Club - ICYM Gurpur Unit and the Youth Commission in collaboration, organized the ‘Yuva Sparsh and Red Drop Enlightenment’ on the occasion of National Youth Day celebration on August 11th in the morning with a Eucharistic Holy Mass. The event began with a solemn Mass led by Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, and V. Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D'Sa. During the Eucharistic Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. ICYM - PYC GURPUR HOSTS INSPIRING 'SAINTS LIFE' INTER-WARD SKIT COMPETITION

On October 20th, the ICYM - PYC Gurpur, in collaboration with the Youth Commission, held a heartwarming 'Saints Life Inter-Ward Skit Competition' at the Pompei Sabha Bhavan. Themed “Let’s Come Together and Strengthen Our Community,” the event commenced at 3 PM with an opening prayer led by ICYM - PYC members, setting a reverent tone for the afternoon.
