51st ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION BY ICYM

Pompei Youngster's Club Affiliated to ICYM Gurpur Unit and Youth Commission grandly celebrated 51^st Annual Day Ceremony on 10^th February 2024 in the Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba. Program began by seeking God’s blessings through the prayer song. President of this event ICYM – PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa, Chief Guest, honorary PYC Member Mr. Prinson Menezes. Other guests, Parish Pastorial Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastorial Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo, Parish 21 commissions coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues and Secretary Josvita D’Souza were the dignitaries on the dais.

ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. Dignitaries on the dias dropped different breeds and colors of fish in the bowl, this gave a message that varieties of talents, different age, boys and girls of ICYM-PYC Gurpur work unitedly happily together during the entire year 2023-2024. ICYM-PYC Secretary Josvita D’Souza meticulously reviewed the annual events slated for the year 2023-2024 and provided a brief overview of each one and ICYM-PYC Media Representative Lester Menezes presented the PowerPoint presentation. Chief Guest Mr. Prinson Menezes distributed the prizes of the Pet Show competition. All the dignitaries on the dais honored and awarded the Chief Guest Mr. Prinson Menezes with the Memento, Fruits, Shawl and acknowledgement letter. Honorary PYC Member Mr. Wilfred Pinto beautifully wrote the acknowledgment letter. Mr. Prinson Menezes in his speech stated that “when he was a youngster, there was no proper support and very few opportunities, now there is proper transfer of knowledge, support and equal opportunities. So, because of this ICYM-PYC Gurpur have organized well-mannered programs for this year and it has been successful”. He also appreciated all the youngsters of the organization and asked all the other youngsters to join this organization. Next, all the sponsors and well-wishers of all the ICYM-PYC 2023-2024 events were honored with the memento by 21 Commissions Co-coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo and Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo. Lester Menezes and Letisha Lobo took charge of announcing the names of the sponsors. Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo in his speech stated that “Youngsters of the organization should exhibit their talents not only in parish level but also in Deanery and Diocese level events and uplift the reputation of the PYC organization. Youngster’s should be like Jesus Christ who enlightened the entire world from his young age”. And he appreciated all the youngsters of ICYM-PYC Gurpur unit for the success.

Parish Priest distributed the Inter Ward Championship Award to Kandar A ward for securing the highest points in all the Events of 2023-2024 year. ICYM-PYC Director and Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Rodolf Ravi D’sa in his speech stated that “ICYM-PYC is the first organization of the parish to have completed 50 years in the last year this has strengthened this organization to the next level and congratulated ICYM-PYC President and all the members have worked unitedly in one spirit and conducted various events to keep the entire parish alive in this whole year. ICYM-PYC President is very disciplined in his actions and the Core-Committee members actively worked with support of all the members during this tenure. Many other youngsters of the Parish must join this organization; all the parents should encourage the youngsters. He then congratulated all the ICYM-PYC members for organizing this mega event with the massive preparations. ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro distributed the memorable ICYM-PYC Diaries to all the honorary guests. The vote of thanks was delivered by Lolita Serrao, the Joint Secretary of ICYM-PYC. Stage was vacated by the Honorary Guests for the cultural program. Dances, Baila songs and Drama ಆಲಿಸ್ ಬಾಯೆನ್ ವೋಡ್ನ್ ಧರ್ಲಾಂ (ಕ್ಲೆರೆನ್ಸ್ ಪಿಂಟೊ, ಪಡೀಲ್) were exhibited by the ICYM-PYC members on this occasion. Prizes were distributed for the games conducted during the cultural events. Event was concluded by singing PYC Anthem. Cultural program responsibility was taken by Jyothsna Nazereth, singing responsibility was taken by Rian Fernandes & Nigel Peris, dance responsibility was taken by Hensita D’Costa. Stage Formal program responsibility was taken by Lester Menezes, Christon Fernandes & Letisha Lobo. Jia Menezes and Shaun Fernandes gracefully hosted the entire event as the Masters of Ceremony, adding a touch of elegance and professionalism to the proceedings. Around 400 parishioners were present for this Mega Event.
