POMPEI CRICKET LEAGUE 2024: JERSEY AND TROPHY LAUNCH EVENT



The Pompei Youngsters Club (PYC), affiliated with ICYM Mangalore Diocese, hosted the Jersey and Trophy Launch Event for the Pompei Cricket League 2024 on December 6, 2024, at 6:30 PM. The event started with a prayer song by ICYM-PYC members, seeking God's blessings. V. Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, Director of ICYM-PYC, presided over the event. Several dignitaries joined him on stage, including:

  • Mr. Romans Lobo – Vice President, Parish Pastoral Council
  • Mr. Johnson Lobo – Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council
  • Mrs. Hilda Menezes – Coordinator, Parish 21 Commissions
  • Mr. Godwin Tauro – ICYM-PYC Animator
  • Mr. Lester Menezes – ICYM-PYC President
  • Ms. Preema Menezes – ICYM-PYC Secretary
  • Mr. Augustine Menezes – ICYM-PYC Sports Secretary
  • Mr. Christon Fernandes – PCL 2024 Coordinator
  • Mr. Deepak D’Souza – PCL 2024 Coordinator

ICYM-PYC President Lester Menezes warmly welcomed the gathering. The team owners and co-owners of the five participating teams – Asteroid Amigos, Big Bull Warriors, Elite Strikers, JMJ Cricketers, and Royal Strikers – were honored with mementos. The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the tournament trophies by V. Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D’Sa, marking the official launch of PCL 2024. The dignitaries also revealed the jerseys of the five teams and presented them to the respective owners and co-owners. In turn, the team owners handed over the jerseys to their Icon Players / Captains. In his address, V. Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D’Sa wished all teams and players the very best for Pompei Cricket League 2024, encouraging them to play with sportsmanship and team spirit. ICYM-PYC Secretary Preema Menezes delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success. The evening was gracefully hosted by Reshma Sequeira, whose energy and charm made the event even more special. The gathering enjoyed refreshments, and the memorable moments were captured by Shaun Fernandes. This grand occasion was made possible through the dedication of the ICYM-PYC Director, Animator, President, Secretary, Sports Secretary, and PCL Coordinators. The Pompei Cricket League 2024 is set to be an exciting tournament, filled with passion and competitive spirit!

ELECTIONS OF THE NEW OFFICE BEARERS OF ICYM-PYC GURPUR UNIT FOR THE YEAR 2024-25

ICYM-PYC Gurpur Elections took place on 5th May in the PYC Stage after the Sunday Eucharistic Holy Mass. Reshma Sequeira and Preema Menezes led the prayer service seeking God's blessings. ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. ICYM-PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolph Ravi D'Sa, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo and ICYM-PYC Secretary Josvita D'Souza were present on this occasion.
