POMPEI CRICKET LEAGUE 2023 – SEASON 2 ORGANISED BY ICYM-PYC GURPUR

Pompei Youngster's Club Affiliated to ICYM Mangalore - Gurpur Unit and Youth Commission organized Pompei Cricket League 2023 – Season 2 to the cricket fans of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur – Kaikamba on 10th December 2023 in the Rosa Mystica School Ground, Kaikamba.

This was a IPL Format 6 Teams Cricket League tournament.  All the 6 teams were formed by the auction prior to the tournament. PRAGATHI STRIKERS are the winners and ASTEROID AMIGOS are the RUNNERS-UP of of the PCL 2023 Season 2. Rev. Fr. Pius Pinto as the President of the closing ceremony, Mr. Richard Fernandes as the Chief Guest, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish 21 Commissions Coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, Sports Secretary Christon Fernandes were present for the prize distribution / closing ceremony. ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. PCL 2023 Event Coordinator Lester Menezes announced the prize winners of the tournament. Viola Moras was the Master of Ceremony for this Closing Ceremony. Owner’s of Pragathi Strikers Mr. Elroy D’Souza and Ms. Sweedal D’Souza, Owner’s of Asteroid Amigos Mr. Joel Fernandes and Roshan Misquith were also present.

On April 27th, 2025, at 7:00 AM, 20 enthusiastic members of the Pompei Youngsters Club – ICYM Gurpur Unit, along with their Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, gathered at the church to kick off a much-awaited picnic to UVA Meridian Amusement Park, Kundapur. Before beginning the journey, Mr. Godwin Tauro led the group in a short prayer, seeking God's blessings for a safe and joyful trip. The group traveled by mini-bus, enjoying each other's company along the way. A delicious breakfast stop re-energized everyone, and by 9:45 AM, the team arrived at the amusement park, excited for the day ahead. The fun began with a round of dry games, bringing out lots of laughter and team spirit. This was followed by a tasty lunch featuring chicken biryani, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 51st ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION BY ICYM – PYC GURPUR

Pompei Youngster's Club Affiliated to ICYM Gurpur Unit and Youth Commission grandly celebrated 51 st Annual Day Ceremony on 10 th February 2024 in the Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba. Program began by seeking God’s blessings through the prayer song. President of this event ICYM – PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa, Chief Guest, honorary PYC Member Mr. Prinson Menezes. Other guests, Parish Pastorial Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastorial Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo, Parish 21 commissions coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues and Secretary Josvita D’Souza were the dignitaries on the dais.
