ST. ANTONY'S ASHRAM VISIT AND FRIENDSHIP DAY CELEBRATION BY ICYM-PYC GURPUR UNIT


Pompei Youngster’s Club affiliated to ICYM - PYC Gurpur unit visited St.Antony Ashram, Jeppu and also celebrated Friendship Day on 13th August 2023 at 2:30 PM. Rev. Fr.Avinash Pais assistant Director of the Ashram, PYC Alumni Member Peter Antony Pinto, PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues, Secretary Josvita D'Souza along with the 46 Members of PYC and 100 Members of Ashram were present on this occasion.

Rev. Fr. Avinash Pais gave a brief introduction about the Ashram and all the members of ICYM - PYC went through different section of the Ashram like Nazareth House (Diabetic Ward), Psychiatric Ward and so on. The main goal of this Program was to create awareness among the youngsters, interact with old age people and also to understand their problems and never let their parents be in this conditions. Program was started by enlightening God's blessings through and prayer song lead by Rian Fernandes and team. Josvita and the team acted out a short comedy drama to make everyone smile and laugh. Followed by dance to make them feel relax by Jyothsna and team. And to make everyone feel happy and rejoiced there was a song galore of different language songs such as kokani, Hindi, Kanada and English by the PYC members. In between there were few action songs as well as games conducted and prizes were distributed. Meantime, Groceries and Sarees donated by the people of Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur - Kaikamba were handed over to the Ashram. The program was concluded by vote of thanks. All the ICYM - PYC members most importantly visited the Psychiatric Patients Ward and interacted with them. Rushal Lobo was the Master of Ceremony of this event. Once this event was concluded all the ICYM-PYC members travelled to Kadri Park to celebrate Friendship Day. It was celebrated by tying a friendship band and giving chocolates to each other. The entire event was a major success.

On April 27th, 2025, at 7:00 AM, 20 enthusiastic members of the Pompei Youngsters Club – ICYM Gurpur Unit, along with their Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, gathered at the church to kick off a much-awaited picnic to UVA Meridian Amusement Park, Kundapur. Before beginning the journey, Mr. Godwin Tauro led the group in a short prayer, seeking God's blessings for a safe and joyful trip. The group traveled by mini-bus, enjoying each other's company along the way. A delicious breakfast stop re-energized everyone, and by 9:45 AM, the team arrived at the amusement park, excited for the day ahead. The fun began with a round of dry games, bringing out lots of laughter and team spirit. This was followed by a tasty lunch featuring chicken biryani, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 51st ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION BY ICYM – PYC GURPUR

Pompei Youngster's Club Affiliated to ICYM Gurpur Unit and Youth Commission grandly celebrated 51 st Annual Day Ceremony on 10 th February 2024 in the Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur Kaikamba. Program began by seeking God’s blessings through the prayer song. President of this event ICYM – PYC Director Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa, Chief Guest, honorary PYC Member Mr. Prinson Menezes. Other guests, Parish Pastorial Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastorial Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo, Parish 21 commissions coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, ICYM-PYC President Vaibhav Rodrigues and Secretary Josvita D’Souza were the dignitaries on the dais.
